Soroptimist work together to invest in women and girls in our community by giving them resources to achieve economic empowerment. Here are some of our signature programs:
We grant at least one Soroptimist Live Your Dream Award each year. Our recipients are women in our community that are looking to better their economic situation through education. The women we help are heads of households with dependents. Our award supports them in their pursuit of a technical certification or undergraduate degree that will allow them to advance their dreams! These women are simply amazing!
In 2024, we will be producing a Soroptimist Dream It, Be It event where girls from underserved communities meet with mentors to gain practical knowledge of how to accomplish their life and employment goals. We are proud of Soroptimist’s work to help put these deserving girls on a positive path so that their dreams may become reality.
We continue to work with the St. Lucie County Health Department to hold a symposium every January on the issue of Human Trafficking. We seek to collaborate with other entities in the county in order to promote programs that support women and girls in our community. I
